Über Manley Performance Tuning
Im März 1966 wurde Manley Speed Equipment, Inc. von Hank Manley kurz nach seinem Abschluss an der Brown University gegründet. Sein Interesse an Leistung und Rennsport geht auf das Jahr 1960 zurück, als er im Alter von siebzehn Jahren einen 312 CID Ford V-8 Motor umbaute, eine Nockenwelle und drei Zwei-Fass-Vergaser einbaute und mit einem 1956er Thunderbird auf den Straßen von New Jersey Rennen fuhr. Anfangs umfasste das Sortiment rostfreie Ventile, geschmiedete Kolben, Nockenwellen, Stößel, Vanadium-Ventilfedern, Stößelstangen und Steuerketten-Kits. Der erste Katalog bestand aus vervielfältigtem Papier. Die Adresse der Firma lautete prophetisch 13 Race Street in Bloomfield, New Jersey. Eine Namensänderung in Manley Performance Products, Inc. folgte bald.
Bis 1988 war das Unternehmen aus der Anlage in Bloomfield herausgewachsen und es wurden mehrere Hektar in Lakewood, New Jersey, für den Bau einer neuen Fabrik erworben. Zehn Jahre später wurde die Produktionsfläche verdoppelt. In dem Werk wurden nun auch Pleuelstangen und eine Reihe von Schmiedekolben der Platinum-Serie hergestellt.
Unter der Leitung unseres GM Michael Tokarchik trat Manley im Jahr 2002 in den Hochleistungs-PKW-Markt als OEM-Lieferant von Pleuelstangen für den 2003/2004 Ford SVT Mustang Cobra ein. Die Produktion erreichte 2500 Pleuel pro Woche, ohne einen einzigen Liefertermin zu verpassen. Ford verlieh Manley die höchste jemals vergebene Lieferantenbewertung. Manley's Präsenz auf dem OEM-Markt setzte sich als Lieferant für den Ford GT fort. Heute definiert sich Manley Performance in einer sich ständig weiterentwickelnden High-Performance Aftermarket-Industrie immer wieder neu. Wir haben neue Produkte für wachsende Märkte wie Sport Compact, Ford Modular und Chevy LS entwickelt, sowie unsere Führungsrolle im traditionellen V-8 Motorengeschäft beibehalten.
