The BD Diesel Electronic Positive Air Shutdown (E-PAS) system provides a critical safety feature for diesel engines by cutting off the intake air supply to the cylinders in emergency situations. Designed specifically for the 2025 and newer RAM 2500, 3500, 4500, and 5500 models equipped with the 6.7L Cummins engine, this system prevents engine runaway caused by external hydrocarbons entering the engine, which can lead to overspeeding and catastrophic engine failure.
The E-PAS controls the electronic throttle body in the intake manifold, closing it to safely shut down the engine. Installation is straightforward and can be completed in less than 1.5 hours using factory plug-in connectors and pre-made wiring harnesses. The system automatically resets after shutdown and can be easily removed, making it ideal for leased vehicles.
