Cometic's MLS gaskets are comprised of multiple embossed layers of stainless steel with the outer layers utilizing a Viton rubber coating. This design provides increased strength, rebound, and resistance to corrosion. The gasket can withstand the shearing force created by aluminum heads and cast iron blocks.
